http://www.therailclub.com One of DFW's only exclusively metal and hard rock music venues is just off of Highway 30 in Fort Worth. On the large, raised stage (with a gated metal perimeter) is where you will see dozens of North Texas' hard rock bands each month. The cover charge is always reasonable, and if you're not that into the music, five pool tables sit on the opposite side of the venue to entertain you. Multiple bars and an upstairs balcony accommodate hundreds of metalheads, punk rockers and show-goers young and old. If you're sensitive to cigarette smoke, this isn't the place for you, as clouds of smoke billow into the air from every corner, including the small mosh pits that inevitably break out. More >>
http://www.renoschopshop.com There's one bar in Deep Ellum that the bikers, greasers, metalheads and punks can all agree on: Reno's Chop Shop Saloon. The long, double-sided bar can accommodate even the busiest nights as graphic-T'd bartenders sling Pabst Blue Ribbon drafts and Jaeger Bombs in plastic cups with equal aplomb. Check out a live punk or metal show in the back room if you want to know why disposable cups rather than glassware is such a good idea. More >>

According to the bartender, the crowd at at Rob's Billiards and Sports Bar changes from night to night. "There's free pool for ladies on Tuesdays, and free pool for guys on Wednesdays," she says over Tuesday night's chatter. The popular Euless watering hole is generally packed every Tuesday -- not a free pool table in sight. The other half of the bar, however, remains empty, because it's used for Thursday's open mic night and Friday and Saturday's live music night, which also draw big crowds. More >>
http://www.rodeoex.com In the stockyard tradition, it's a good ol' country bar with a dance floor and stage offering live country music on weekends and a place to post up for a cold beer during the week. Tuesday and Wednesday nights, a crowd of regulars with a smattering of tourists comes for the free dance lessons (the shuffle and swing) and stay for the cheap beer. Exposed brick behind the bar, two pool tables and beer ads covering the walls make up a smaller version of the typical Texas honky-tonk, housing country stars from Toby Keith to Tanya Tucker since 1989. http://www.roundupsaloon.com Notorious for being one of the most spacious gay bars in town, Round-Up Saloon has several rooms, multiple bars, and a two-story outdoor patio; although the bar's selling point is really its tremendous hardwood dance floor, in the middle of the main room. The bar is saturated with a western theme, and has several large, framed photos of male cowboys doing cowboy-type things. Along with karaoke, trivia and drag shows, the bar hosts two-stepping and western swing dance lessons every week. The friendly bar staff say that Round-Up is a place for gay, straight and transgendered people of every orientation. Even Lady Gaga made an appearance at Round-Up Saloon in 2011, after her "Born This Way" tour, as an act of support for the gay community. More >>

http://www.rubberglovesdentontx.com An indie-music lover's paradise. If it's never on the radio, it's probably live here. Sure, the 45-minute drive sucks, but the low cover, cheap beer, crazy bands and expanded bar area make up for it. Beer is cheapest on Tuesday open mike nights. More >>
