  • The Where House

    The Where House

2510 Hemphill St. Fort Worth, TX 76110
    817-913-7777

Located on the northern tip of South Fort Worth, Where House is the most well-disguised music venue and arts space in town. From the outside, it appears as a boxy, lifeless building, but one step inside and The Where House lives up to its name. This gigantic and literal warehouse is a labyrinth of indoor and outdoor space both gritty and modern. Inside, bands take the stage while art installations or photography stations take place simultaneously. Outside, ivy weaves in and out of the bricks as patrons can sit and watch one of the many trains pass by. Crowds of music and art aficionados flock to Where House Thursday through Sunday for live music and inexpensive drinks. More >>

  • White Rock Coffee

    White Rock Coffee

    10105 E. NW Highway Dallas, TX 75238
    214-341-4774

http://www.wrcoffee.com The health nuts who are addicted to running or cycling White Rock Lake Trail often get their jolt here. The smell of the organic fair-trade coffee alone is like sunshine for them. The beans are roasted in-house and have applied to them quirky names like Lady of the Lake, Pearl Peaberry and Sweet Blue. The baristas serve the trademark coffee and their loose-leaf teas while live acts fill the place Thursday through Sunday with a motley mix of area residents, hipsters and, again, health nuts. Customers can purchase items like a Bialleti coffee maker idea for camping or a White Rock Coffee-branded travel mug. More >>

  • White Rock Sports Bar & Grill

White Rock Sports Bar & Grill

    718 N. Buckner Blvd. Dallas, TX 75218
    214-321-6979

This unique Lake Highlands-area dive bar is located in a strip shopping mall just a stone's throw from White Rock Lake. With plenty of TVs and seating, the neighborhood sports bar makes for a good location to catch a big game while enjoying White Rock's drink specials. At night, you can't miss the joint thanks to the bright-as-day glow from the huge neon sign that runs the width of the bar. The kitchen cranks out typical bar fare (the burgers are popular with the regulars - "Damn good," one said), and bring quarters in case you feel like playing some arcade or pinball games. Billiards and shuffleboard are available, too. More >>

  • The Wild Rooster Bar

    The Wild Rooster Bar

3204 Camp Bowie Blvd. Fort Worth, TX 76107
    817-332-9453

http://www.wildroosterbar.com Fort Worth's Wild Rooster is considered part of the Seventh Street Corridor, though it sits alone on the fringe. But being located apart from the other neighborhood bars isn't a bad thing. It means people who visit the bar aren't going to barhop up and down the street. They're there for the night. And Wild Rooster gives them reason to be. The roomy bar is cavernous but never feels empty, thanks to an abundance of seating and décor that covers the red walls. On weeknights, you can sit at the bar and watch the game. On weekends, you can catch one of Fort Worth's best country or rock acts on the Wild Rooster stage. More >>
