  • Tapatio Studios

    Tapatio Studios

1836 S. Cesar Chavez Blvd. Dallas, TX 75215

Situated in the industrial part of Oak Cliff, adjacent to the Pilgrim’s Pride factory, is an old converted taquería and convenience store. Although the shabby building is in need of some serious TLC, the music venue is a haven for young show-goers looking to see the latest punk, metal and noise-rock groups Dallas has to offer. With concrete floors and walls, a small bar and just one couch, the venue is a far cry from cozy, although its well-constructed stage, lighting and sound are what really matter most to Tapatio’s regulars. • Three Links

    Three Links

2704 Elm St. Dallas, TX 75226 Filling the space that was once rock music venue La Grange, Three Links has found a home in Deep Ellum. Opened and operated by three Dallas music and arts scene veterans -- former La Grange manager Scott Beggs, Tactic Productions talent buyer Kris Youmans and Elm Street Tattoo owner and tattoo artist Oliver Peck -- Three Links hosts an array of rock, hardcore, indie pop and electronic bands from inside and outside of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. Beyond a conjoined taco shop next to it, a newly built stage and some different decor, old La Grange regulars won't notice much of a difference between the spaces. The building still has the same great outdoor patio around back. More >>

  • The Treehouse Bar & Grill

    The Treehouse Bar & Grill

    1512 W. Hickory St. Denton, TX 76201

What looks like an actual treehouse, if it were first an old fraternity house, is a spanning two-story bar directly next to the heart of the University of North Texas campus. Catering mostly to students, The Treehouse has more than 80 specialty shots that line the menu hanging above the downstairs bar, including the "cheap fuck" and the "orgasm," to name a couple. With its wooden exterior and mahogany interior, The Treehouse is a good place to go if you're not too picky about your draft beer selection and want fruit-flavored alcohol at a considerably low price.
