Few musicians have access to the ridiculous resources that Dweezil Zappa did growing up. That’s just one of the many privileges of growing up the son of the legendary Frank Zappa. From an early age, Zappa was able to learn guitar from some of the most talented musicians of the time, including Steve Vai and Eddie Van Halen. That’s not to say that Dweezil isn’t talented in his own right. By age 12, he had already released his first single, produced by Van Halen, because why not? Interestingly, his solo career is hardly the most interesting aspect of his musical history. Somewhere along the line, he decided to pick up the mantle of his father’s music, touring frequently to ensure that his father’s legacy never tarnishes. Zappa equates it to taking over the family business, and he technically isn’t wrong. As long as the people like it, it doesn’t really matter.
