One of the most iconic dresses in history is on display at Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Grand Prairie Odditorium. The gown Marilyn Monroe wore to serenade President John F. Kennedy on his 45th birthday is now the world’s most expensive dress after being purchased by Ripley’s for $4.8 million. It will be at the Grand Prairie Odditorium for a limited time, beginning Friday, September 22.
Ripley’s Believe It or Not! is also hosting Marilyn Monroe movie nights outside each Saturday in October, weather permitting. The first showing is Saturday, October 7, featuring “Gentlemen Prefer Blondes.” In the movie, Marilyn Monroe plays a beautiful showgirl engaged to be married to a wealthy man. However, his father does not approve and believes she’s just after his son’s money.
The movie is free to watch. Showings start at 7:30pm.
Come dressed as Marilyn Monroe and enter the look-a-like contest for the chance to win awesome prizes. Judging for the best Marilyn look-a-like will happen before the movie at 6:30pm. Check-in at the ticket booth.
