El Ranchito bills itself as a restaurant, but on Friday and Saturday nights it’s an all-out party. The mariachi band plays loudly, bounding from table to table with upbeat tunes, while Oak Cliff locals get into some of the neighborhood’s best Mexican fare. Hear these words: cabrito a la parrilla. The baby goat will conquer any craving for Mexican flavors. Tex-Mex traditionalists can take comfort in enchiladas, tacos and fajitas. Need more? On Wednesday evenings Elvis impersonators turn the party up to 11, competing each week for the adoration of the refried-bean-stuffed crowd. The line you’ll see out front is a testament to what you’ll find inside. El Ranchito is a gem.
