Pearl

Located downtown on the corner of Pearl and Commerce Streets, Pearl is housed in a two-story structure originally built in 1903. Since then, the building's housed several businesses like the Hall Remedy Co. and the Donovan Undertaking Co. (the last one, they say, "explains the ghosts"). Today, this bar and music venue that, according to its website, caters to a "diverse, mostly 30's and up crowd," hosts a wide variety of musical talent but specializes in primarily blues and jazz acts, with the occasional foray into zydeco, Latin and reggae. Inside there's plenty of seating with a good view of the stage. The bar has happy hour Monday through Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. when $3 wells and domestic longnecks are offered.
