Cosmic Café

2912 Oak Lawn Ave.
Dallas, TX 75219
214-521-6157
Website
Nestled between a strip mall and a wine warehouse, Cosmic Café resides in an old house painted inside and out in bright colors and Indian murals. The building is itself a symbol of the restaurant's menu--part Oak Lawn funky, part traditional Indian. The food is vegetarian (if not vegan) and is served either inside under a painted sky in the house's living room or on the front porch near a fountain. There are Indian staples such as dahl, falafal, samosas and hummus and dishes with just an Indian flair and clever names such as a Fold in Thyme (warm veggies and mozzarella wrapped in nan bread). The smoothies, homemade fruit ice cream and vegetarian cakes and brownies make a great finale.

The Inside Word on Cosmic Café

  • Brock
Great vegetarian food but they also host events centered around yoga and meditation.
  • AmyE
Dallas' is known for meat, meat and meat (insert joke). But vegetarians and vegans know about Cosmic Cafe. Indian inspired dishes with really the best samosas in town.
  • Cynthia V
I love Cosmic Cafe, and I am not a vegetarian but I love this place. Even a hardcore meat eater could find something they like here.
