Houston's

8300 Preston Road
Dallas, TX 75225
214-691-8991
Website
Houston's is an upscale restaurant chain that rakes the corporate kinks out of the mix, leaving only assembly-line consistency and impeccable staff training exposed. The rest of the canvas is filled with distinctive atmosphere and well-honed flavors. Wood-grilled steaks, chops and ribs are delicious, as is the apple walnut cobbler.

The Inside Word on Houston's

The lighting, architecture and live jazz set the scene for the best dining experience in town. They don't take reservations, there is almost always a wait and it's always worth it. Relax at the bar or on the patio and enjoy a glass of wine, savor your experience. Once seated you'll realize they have something on the menu for everyone and everything on the menu is amazing. I would eat at Houston's every day if I could. Start with a caesar salad (ask for cheese toast). It is the most amazing caesar salad you will ever have. Ask about the fresh fish specials, they're perfectly prepared and delicious. I usually order the Prime Rib (extra rare)...it is consistently the best prime rib I've ever had. Their crab cakes are so good they used to keep it a secret, you just had to know. Finally I should mention the staff. I've never had better service. They know exactly what they're doing and they do it well. They work together and everyone makes you feel special. I've eaten at Houston's perhaps hundreds of times and it has never been anything less than perfect. Oh and one more thing: the prices are reasonable enough to dine often.
