Max's Wine Dive

3600 McKinney Ave., 100 Dallas, TX 75204 | East Dallas & Lakewood | 214-559-3483

Location Description:

You can learn a lot about the West Village restaurant on Lemmon Avenue from its name. Max’s Wine Dive attempts to democratize wine drinking, serving Vouvray and Champagne alongside fried chicken and macaroni and cheese. The Austin-based small chain is pushing out bustling wine bars serving comfort food to Houston, San Antonio and Dallas. A large open kitchen vents the smells of simmering collard greens and buttery potatoes as Uptown locals pore over a sizable wine list organized by rockin’ whites, jammin' reds, bubbles and beer, while the menu is separated into small and large plates. Sliders come in bison and fried chicken versions while piquillo peppers get stuffed with brisket and oozing cheese. A $16 burger makes use of Angus short rib, brisket, chuck and belly on a fresh brioche bun with hydroponic Bibb lettuce and house-made pickles, served with Max's frites and house-made pickled jalapeños. And if a $16 burger isn’t enough for you, you can always add bacon and a fried egg for $6 more.
