Nick & Sam's

3008 Maple Ave.
Dallas, TX 75201
214-871-7444
Website
The dining room reeks of class and confidence, the bar area draws a comely weekend crowd, servers tend to celebs and commoners with equal grace—so you would expect more from the kitchen. Nick & Sam’s serves some impressive items, certainly. Standouts include quail, Hudson Valley foie gras (perhaps the best in Dallas) and diver scallops. But they show a tendency to overcook steak and seafood offerings. When prepared to expectations, their prime fillet ranks among the city’s best. Another plus: Staff members allow guests to linger without worrying about the next wave of diners. Wine pairings are near-perfect and presented with appropriate fanfare. Little inconsistencies mar the experience, however. Avoid “afterthought” items such as soup. Stick with beef, despite the risk of overcooking, and their array of appetizers.

    great place

The menu is wide in variety, wine drinkers love it and they've got everything you want. Not too far from the American Airlines Center, a wonderful place to go, and the owners get to know everyone by name even though it's big. They're dialed in as far as all the socialites in Dallas.
