Peak & Elm Cocina y Bar

132 N. Peak St. Dallas, TX 75226 | Fair Park | 214-826-7617

Location Description:

Peak & Elm is located at 132 North Peak S., just on the outskirts of Deep Ellum. The restaurant offers "classic Mexican dishes with a modern flair" and pulls from the history of the neighborhood with both the décor and menu. Peak and Elm is a project of Jesse Moreno Sr. and and Jesse Moreno Jr., who also own La Popular Tamale House. The menu, which has a healthful slant (no lard, some vegetables), features products from some Dallas artisans like The Mozzarella Co., Times Ten Cellars, Empire Baking Co. and the Texas Honeybee Guild. Lunch and dinner plates include a tamale pie (above), enchiladas, hamburguesa, fajitas, a salad and daily specials. Starters include a sea bass and shrimp ceviche, and "alas puras" -- natural wings. Plus, they serve house-made tortillas. Peak & Elm carries only Texas-made beers along with a menu of craft cocktails like a Streetcar Sangria and pear margarita. The spot is a bit quaint and "intimate" at just 1,500 square feet in all, but it's always good to get to know your neighbors. P&E is open for lunch, dinner and late nights on Friday and Saturdays (until 3 a.m.); plus brunch on the weekends. It's closed on Mondays.
