World-class barbecue in an unlikely place, perfect as an aftermath for your day trip to Fossil Rim Wildlife Center or Dinosaur Valley State Park in Glen Rose. The pork ribs are the thing, smoked over pecan wood till they're deliciously tender. Also worth a taste are the German sausage, a lean Old World variety available in spicy or mild, and the brisket. Skins-on french fries are the best of the side dishes. Friendly, down-home table service. Warning: no credit cards.
