Being inside Tom Tom Asian Grill and Sushi Bar is like playing dress-up. After you drive around for 20 minutes looking for a parking spot in the West Village and open the door for your train wreck of a blind date, you're greeted by chicly attired waitstaff and swanky Asian-meets-mod decor. Suddenly you believe that you dropped off the Audi at the valet and held the door for your lingerie model girlfriend. You won't need play money for the bill, though, because the menu's as cheap as it is extensive. Most of the sushi's under 10 bucks and even cheaper during lunch. The noodle bowls are plentiful and served steaming hot, while meat dishes are thoroughly marinated for maximum taste (try the Tamarind Barbecue Salmon).
Tom Tom... how about Yum Yum!
This place is a great place to take a visiting friend or relative. Not only is it delicious, but the neighborhood it's in encourages an after dinner walk!
if you haven't had their fried cheesecake for desert yet, your simply missing out on one of the biggest orgasms you will ever have! ...inside your mouth that is... ;)
I have been a long time fan of Tom Tom Asian Grill in the West Village. Recently, I had dinner there with some friends and noticed that their patio has received some slight updates for their upcoming Summer traffic. They've got these nice new patio tables with red umbrellas; in Dallas you need a little shade with all the hot weather. I also noticed that they had this mister system, which can be a nice touch when it does get into the triple digits.
The night that my friends and I had dinner was on their Thursday $1 Sushi night. The patio was packed full of people. There was a slight wait so I placed my name with the hostess who was very pleasant. She said that we would only have to wait about 15 minutes. The manager was standing nearby and asked if we would like drinks while we waited. I thought that was really nice of him to offer so we ordered their specialty Blackberry Mojitos. The drinks were awesome!!! It didn't take us long to get to our table. Our server was prompt in greeting us. He was really nice and seemed very excited to be there. I made a comment to the waiter that I loved the music that they were playing; he actually knew who the artist was and wrote it down for me later. My friends and I ordered tons of their $1 Sushi and loved every bit of it. This was the first time for a few of my friends to dine at Tom Tom; they loved it! This definitely will be a favorite place for my friends and I to come back to and get together.
The waiter was amazing!!! We will definitely ask for him by name next Thursday when we go back. They need more friendly, trendy sushi restaurants like Tom Tom in Dallas. Experience it for yourself; you won't be disappointed.

I love the food there, pad thie is my favorite there, however, I stopped going there as frequently as I used to , because the service is not there. You will never see the waiter after he takes your order. I am very disspappointed.

Overall:
this place sucks. I sat here with my dining companion for more than 1 hour with our beer well gone and the service person never got a clue we did not receive our lunch yet. when we finally left after paying for beers, no one stopped us, offered us our lunch for free or anything. they just said " oh, sorry!" we are too. we will never go back and inform everyone of this experience. ps: the place not even very crowded that day
