Duncanville’s status as a “wet” suburb has launched a mini-renaissance in Southern Dallas dining, and Toshio’s Taste of Japan is one place that has taken advantage of the change, moving to new digs on Main Street. The best thing about Toshio’s, in fact, is the handsome space, with a tastefully rendered fishy theme and moody lighting. It’s the best-looking restaurant interior in all of Southern Dallas. The food is good, not great; the prices are very reasonable, however, and portions are huge. Sushi is a high point. One smart move: Toshio’s offers a couple of dessert selections from Cretia’s, a popular local bakery.
