For this episode of Aural Ambush, we brought a bit of Chicago to our friends at Recycled Books on the historic downtown Denton square with the track "Solid Ground" from Illinois boys Maps & Atlases. The song, featured on their latest LP, Perch Patchwork, which dropped late last month, impressed most of our "ambushees" with its "chill," "arrangement-heavy," "not-something-you'd-party-to" sound.

If you also enjoyed "Solid Ground" and its perfect-for-bicyclists-ness, the folks at Barsuk Records were kind enough to not only let us use the song in our goofy ambushing endeavors, but also to give it to our DC9 readers as a free download.

Maps & Atlases will make a stop in Dallas at The Loft on Sunday, July 25, with guests Cults, The Globes, and Seastroke as part of their adventure around the nation and Europe on a tour promoting this, their fifth, album.

Thanks again to the folks at Barsuk and to our participants.
