Fun Fun Fun Fest has been known to be a good time in the past, and it is shaping up to be an even better one this year. You could go and buy passes. But you know what is even more fun than buying things? Winning them in preposterous fashion, which is exactly what you can do this Sunday at the Fun Fun Fun Fest Scavenger Hunt.

First place wins VIP/Ultimate Smooth Passes for everyone on the team. Second place gets regular passes. Everyone who competes will win something. You can get the flavor of the thing from the video above, but know that things will be slightly different this year. Read what follows closely and you will put yourself at a distinct advantage:

Fun Fun Fun Fest Dallas Scavenger Hunt 2013

What do I have to do? You have to show up with a team. You'll earn points for completing various tasks that range from kinda absurd to really really absurd, so personally I recommend getting a team of people with a sense of humor.

Where: Three Links in Deep Ellum.

When: Sunday, September 22 at 4 p.m.

What should I bring? A phone with an Instagram account. You'll need it to provide photo and video proof of your Hunting.

Sneak preview of the items on this year's Scavenger Hunt:

-2 points per can of food donated to the North Texas Food Bank. Important: You will not get credit for actual cans of food you bring to the scavenger hunt. You must instead provide a receipt from a donation that you make before hand. Here's a list of places you can donate. You can donate up to ten cans per team member.

-10 points if you pre-register. You can do that here. Those ten points won't come as easy at the actual thing, so just do it.

-10 points per team member who shows up in costume. Make the costumes good. The judges might just make subjective adjustments to point values if you have an incredible costume. We also might do that if you half-ass it.

And a little preview of this year's day-of offerings...

-50 points for a fresh tattoo relating to Fun Fun Fun Fest, The Granada or The Observer. BUT: It's important to note that you definitely aren't going to have to do anything this extreme to win. There are less permanent paths to victory. This will make it easier, though.

-10 points if you beat a member of another team at thumb wrestling. But -5 points if you lose. You have to do this in the presence of one of the judges.

-15 points for a picture of a team member with Bob and his keyboard.

You can follow the Granada's twitter account @granadatheater for more hints and the like.

See you Sunday.
