On last year's potent White Elephant, Kansas City five-piece Doris Henson asked the eternal question, "Have you ever been called a whore by a girl who doesn't even know you?" Touring in support of the upcoming Give Me All Your Money, the band pulls off a heady mix of post-punk and horn-infected alternative rock. Matthew Dunehoo's delicate vocals are countered by all sorts of mischief as rhythm section Byron Collum and Wes Gartner lockstep the tunes into blissful chaos. Cuts like "The Power" and "Nothing" rise above their generic titles and should please folks who understand that aggression and intelligence are not mutually exclusive terms.
