Judging by the above tour trailer, Sigur Ros lead singer Jonsi's solo show Monday, October 25, at the Verizon Theatre in Grand Prairie will be something like an apocalyptic Mardi Gras. He'll be touring in support of his newly released album, Go, which is vastly different from his previous solo effort, Riceboy Sleeps.
The biggest difference? Well, he's singing in English, for starters. Where Riceboy Sleeps was quiet and ambient, Go is huge and explosive--much like his prior work with Sigur Ros.
Though he's been touring in support of his solo stuff for a while, this is his first stop in Dallas since the last time Sigur Ros played in town, which was at the Bass Hall in Fort Worth in 2006. Hopefully, the ones lucky enough to have attended that show can expect a performance of equal or higher intensity.
