We've made no secret of our approval of either Cleburne's Fungi Girls or Vermont's Sub Pop-approved Happy Birthday here at DC9. So, yeah, of course we're looking forward to tomorrow night's show at The Nightmare, which finds the two bands sharing what we're thinking is the best-looking bill in an already top-notch week. Another reason to get excited? L.A.'s Residual Echoes, whose fuzzed-up drone fits quite nicely on this bill of '90s alternative aping acts.
It's gonna be a good one, folks. And it gets better: Our friends at Parade of Flesh, who are bringing this show to The Nightmare, have passed along a free pair of tickets and a copy of the band's spring-released, self-titled debut to hand out to one lucky DC9 reader. Could be you, too--if you're the first person to email me right now with the words "A Very Merry Unbirthday to Me" in the subject line. Do that and the tickets and disc are yours. And don't fret if you miss out. We've still got some nice treats for you. After the jump, also courtesy of Parade of Flesh, enjoy a pair of free mp3s from the touring entities on tomorrow's bill.
Update: Contest is over. Congrats to our winner.
