Springtime in Dallas is kinda crazy. We've had plenty of reminders of that of late (witness: the past 24 hours), what with all the severe weather warnings, tornado sirens and Trinity River flooding. So it's no surprise that putting on an outdoor concert is tricky business as well. Witness: Lana Del Rey's abandoned appearance at Gexa Energy Pavilion earlier this month.
Fans were left in a less-than-pleased state of mind when Del Rey's show was abruptly canceled after opener Courtney Love had played her set, reportedly due to the threat of incoming bad weather. Now it turns up that Del Rey won't be returning to Dallas for a make-up date after all, as Live Nation Dallas announced this morning.
Live Nation made the following announcement on its Facebook page this morning:
A replacement date had previously been said to be in the works, with ticket refunds offered to fans unwilling or unable to wait for the new date, but those plans apparently didn't work out.
Del Rey, for her part, issued her own apology in the immediate aftermath of the show, making it clear that she wasn't particularly happy with the situation herself:
