Although the dust hasn't even had time to settle on its latest release, MSTRKRFT claims it has already begun planning its third album. Released earlier this week, Fist of God features guest spots from N.O.R.E., John Legend, hyphy legend E-40 and the most beloved of all the Wu-Tangers: Ghostface Killah.
With its thunderous bass lines and disco-synth prowess, the Canadian duo, consisting of former Death From Above 1979 bassist/synth-man Jesse F. Keeler and former DFA producer AL-P (Alex Puodziukas), has a sound that's been compared to the robot rock produced by the French house scene. As such, the duo serves somewhat as North America's answer to Daft Punk, while retaining the pop sensibilities of Justice. But at its heart, dancing is what all MSTRKRFT shows are about, and the duo's never fully satisfied until its audience is doused in buckets of sweat.
Fellow Canadian beat maestro Felix Cartal opens the show, which should last until the wee hours of the morning.
