Purity Ring, Jesus and Mary Chain Coming to the Bomb Factory
Purity Ring is coming to the Bomb Factory. Yes, this is actually going to happen.
Shit's starting to get real now with The Bomb Factory. In just over 24 hours, the soon-to-be-reopened Deep Ellum music venue has announced two big shows: Yesterday it was British shoegaze legends Jesus and Mary Chain and this morning, courtesy of Transmission Events, it was young synth-pop duo Purity Ring. Tomorrow is set to be an even bigger day, with news of the venue's grand opening party set to be announced, but already the message is clear: The Bomb Factory is going to be a game-changer.
The Bomb Factory has already been rolling out some concert announcements in recent months -- the biggest before this week was Ministry, who play on May 3 -- but this is a little different. When Ministry was announced, it felt like an act of good faith -- a reassurance that, yes, this was actually going to happen. But now they've got a roof on the damn place and a few big shows booked.
This isn't just going to happen. It's going to happen soon.

The sooner of the two will be JAMC, which takes place on Thursday, May 7. The Brits haven't been through Dallas in sometime now; the closest they've come recently was Austin for the festival formerly known as Psych Fest in 2014. The Bomb Factory has booked the show in conjunction with AEG, a good reminder that this new venue is poised to pull some bigger acts into the neighborhood with its 4,300-person capacity. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. this Friday, January 30 at thebombfactory.com.
Meanwhile, Purity Ring is hitting the road again after a little time away, getting ready to promote their new, sophomore album, Another Eternity. They were critical darlings when back in the far-off year of 2012 and should make for an interesting fit in the spacious confines of The Bomb Factory. Those tickets go on sale tomorrow, also at thebombfactory.com.
So with those extra enticements, it's time to sit and wait with baited breath for tomorrow's big reveal. Who will play the grand opening at The Bomb Factory? All we know is that it'll happen at the end of March. We can't wait to find out the rest.
