Ryan Thomas Becker and Grady Don Sandlin, combined, play in some 47 bands throughout the Metroplex, I think--and, in many cases, the two play in those acts together.
But none of those outfits--and I don't mean to hurt any feelings here, honest--even comes close to the heroics on display when the two eschew all other players and perform, together and alone, as RTB2. Look no further than the gorgeous above new video from the duo for its song "When Hammer Hits Stone" off its 2009-released In The Fleshed EP. Shot on 8mm film by the folks at Mr. Magic Carpet Ride Productions, the video capably showcases this band's talents--and casts Becker and Sandlin in a fitting retro sheen.
The video's release comes almost in tandem with some other exciting news from the duo: Next week, when the band plays Dan's Silverleaf in Denton on Thursday as part of the first night of the 2010 NX35 Conferette, the band will release In People, its first ever live album, and a just-over half-hour collection of seven tracks from both In The Fleshed and the band's previous full-length, The Both of It. The release of the disc comes just two days shy of the one-year anniversary of the album's recording--which also took place during a Dan's Silverleaf performance at last year's NX35, and was captured by Scott Hawthorne of Annex House Presents. It's a beautiful recording and, thanks to the band's generosity, we've got proof.
After the jump, stream and download "Wire to the Walls," the third track on the new release. It's pretty awesome.
