Ideally, I wish they would sign guys at their peak instead of with one foot in the grave, but I'm cool with the transaction. If Jones is good, he'll be the team's best center fielder since, I dunno, Garry Matthews Jr., maybe even Darryl Hamilton? (Nobody looks more comfortable under a fly ball than Jones.) If he sucks, he'll be cut in Spring Training.

GM Jon Daniels has hit on a couple of these low-risk/high-reward projects lately and parlayed them into bigger, tangible, useable assets (see: Eric Gagne for David Murphy; Kenny Lofton for Max Ramirez, etc.) Saw Daniels on Channel 8 Sunday night, saying "(Jones) says he has something to prove. Let's see if he can do it."

So, Rangers' fans, I ask you: Can Jones shrug off his Dodgers disaster and regain the form that led him to six All-Star Games and 10 Gold Gloves as an Atlanta Brave?

Yay.

Nay.
