Back to a Simpler Time, When Mr. Peppermint and Activist Roy Williams (?!) Had TV Shows
A Friend of Unfair Park sends a note: The You Tube'r known as "cringevenom," who has an unusually large collection of vintage Dallas broadcast-TV and cable-access videos, has returned to the virtual airwaves with a series of recent postings -- all of which feel like lost Saturday Night Live sketches. And while not all are local, many are -- like, say, this awkward clip featuring Roy Williams, one of the fathers of 14-1. And, after the jump, a clip from Jerry Haynes's Peppermint Place featuring none other than Gaylord Lion. Jerry once told me he doesn't have many of his Mr. Peppermint tapes. I know who he can call.
