City's Working on a Real Estate Deal Called "Project Wall-E." Top Secret, Exec Session Stuff.
There's a curious item posted on the city council's Economic Development Committee's agenda for Monday morning: "Project Wall-E." And that's all it says, save for the fact it will be discussed entirely behind closed doors in executive session. The reason: "to deliberate the purchase, exchange, lease, or value of real property where deliberation in an open meeting would have a detrimental effect on the position of the City in negotiations with a third person."
A phone call to Karl Zavitkovsky, head of the Office of Economic Development, didn't get us much further: "I can't tell you anything," he says this morning. When pressed further, he says, "I can say there will be a very, very interesting announcement about that soon."
So, is this, you know, a big deal? "Yes."
Given the name, does this have to do with those years-old rumors about Disney doing Dallas? "The name wouldn't tell you anything."
This is fun. Let's keep playing the guessing game. "I'll give you one clue," Zavitkovsky says finally. "Focus on the E."
Let the wild speculation commence.
