From Gawker, this news for regular listeners of National Public Radio via its local outlet, KERA-FM (90.1): NPR today has axed two shows, Day to Day and News & Notes, both of which air in Dallas. As a result, some 64 people are being laid off -- though the shows will remain on the air till March, as the local affiliates find alternate programming with which to fill the vacancies. Right now, Day to Day airs from 2 to 3 p.m. weekdays, while News and Notes fills the 9 p.m. to 10 p.m. slot. May we suggest KERA consider, um, music? No? Fine. --Robert Wilonsky
