Tom Leppert and Ed Oakley, meet your worst nightmare: Tracy Rowlett. OK, I dunno about all that, but the KTVT-Channel 11 anchor-on-his-way-out will, a week from tonight, moderate a half-hour debate (really, that's all -- the length of an episode of According to Jim?) twixt the two mayoral candidates. It'll air at 8 p.m. on Channel 11, KERA-Channel 13, TXA 21 and KERA-FM (90.1); hence, Sam Baker's involvement as well.
Also participating in the shindig: Dallas Weekly's Jim Washington and Dallas Blog's Scott Bennett, who will join Baker post-debate for a little analysis. Then, says the press release,"Baker and TXA 21 News Anchor Tracy Kornet will conclude the coverage by interviewing communications consultant Lisa LeMaster on the candidates' presentation styles and how voter perception may be affected by them." What -- Pulle or Schutze aren't good enough for you, Channels 11 and 13? Christ, who ya gotta sleep with to get on a mayoral-debate post-panel circle jerk in this town? (Update: Schutze says it's "an honor not to be invited," so never mind.) The full release, as it were, is after the jump. --Robert Wilonsky
