The missus reports this afternoon that the Preston Royal Shopping Center is getting a new tenant, according to the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission private-club permit application hanging in the window of the former Gap Kids in the Border's parking lot. The name on the handwritten application: "Taco Mundo," which surely must be El Taco Mundo -- the long-rumored location of Caroline Galvan-Rodriguez's newest eatery. (One's also being planned at 4120 Highway 360 in Fort Worth, according to this list of applications for a Mixed Beverage Permit and Mixed Beverage Late Hours Permit.) She's chosen quite the spot too, considering that Mi Cocina -- which she started with husband Mico Rodriguez, who's no longer part of the M Crowd -- is but one major intersection away. Or, as I like to say, it's but a 24-second Mambo Taxi drive door to door. --Robert Wilonsky
