Look, way we see it you have two options tonight: Stay at home and watch It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, one of the last good sitcoms left on TV, or you could do something cultural and convenient (paintings and live music in one place) and charitable and therefore become a better person by still doing very, very little. We're here to help lead you down that path to righteousness by pushing you toward an exhibition featuring the works of local artist Jennifer Morgan, who's debuting the exceptionally vibrant, tender and nature-oriented pieces found in her latest painting series We're All Pink tonight at 12 Forward, Inc. And, lookee there, you'll even find a funky outta-the-way spot with which to impress your friends: 12 Forward, Inc., is located at 4228 N. Central Expressway, Suite 200, in the State Trust Building--yep, over by the big muffler man.
By way of a little background, Morgan's taken a turn from the more whimsical, feminine characters of her past works, but the change is exciting; her works still offer viewers a sort of visual version of a warm embrace--a trademark of Morgan's creations throughout the years and proof, perhaps, of how much she nurtures her art. Morgan's definitely a giver; a portion of proceeds from tonight's show will go to the Conservation Fund. Attendees will also be rewarded not only with beautiful art and a cleansing of the selfish soul, but with the enigmatic and energetic tunes of Shibboleth--and, yes, there will be food and drink. Just go straight from work: The shindig runs from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. What else you got planned? Thought so. --Merritt Martin
