A little Bristol, Connecticut, birdie tells me former Dallas Cowboys receiver Michael Irvin has re-signed with ESPN. The contract, which will be announced later this week, is for four years and pays the Playmaker about $1.5 million per year to continue his role on the network as NFL analyst-Terrell Owens apologist. Surely with $6 million coming his way (and, we hear, talks underway with ESPN Radio for him to host a regular show), Irvin can keep his name off the police blotter for a while, at least until those anonymous secret friends start showing up at Thanksgiving. --Richie Whitt
