Last night, I caught a little bit of T. Boone Pickens' Q&A in front of the National Press Club yesterday. C-SPAN's got the whole thing, for those with an hour to spare. If not, here's a highlight, during which the Dallas oil billionaire with The Plan talks about how Democratic leadership's been willing to meet with him, while the Republicans "don't like [the plan] because I want to do more than just drill." Watch at the end, though, when he's asked whether he's "ready to give that 'D' lever a try." --Robert Wilonsky
Update: On Wednesday morning, the Wall Street Journal reported that the downturn in energy stocks caught Pickens by surprise, and, as a result, his funds have lost $1 billion this year -- $270 million of which is his own personal dough. To which he says, "It's my toughest run in 10 years. We missed the turn in the market, there's nothing fun about it."
