They're Here. They Cheer. Get Used to It.
Today and tomorrow, the National Cheerleaders Association's Senior and Junior High School National Championships are taking place at the Dallas Convention Center. (No wonder our Thursday-night poker game's light a few players tonight. Hunh.) Surprisingly, our Girl on Top didn't find a way to enter; figured that was right up her alley. Ah, well. Our loss. And yours.
Nonetheless, the fact a few hundred of the cheerier gals of this fine nation have descended upon our fair town hasn't been lost on everyone. Here, a local MySpacer with a thing for -- oy -- "fantasy faires" finds herself on a DART train with "150 cheerleaders and two smiling homeless guys." And you wonder why we never link to random local blogs. --Robert Wilonsky
