As promised below, Texas Tribune has indeed posted a snippet of editor-in-chief Evan Smith's interview with Dallas County District Attorney Craig Watkins conducted this morning down in Austin. And, as promised, Watkins does indeed say, rather emphatically, that his office's investigation into the doings of Constables Jaime Cortes and Derrick Evans led to other potential corruption involving elected officials in Dallas County. Who and what, Watkins won't say because, as he tells Smith, there's an ongoing investigation. But in this clip, in which he also addresses Danny Defenbaugh's report and the motivation behind it, Watkins does say "there may be a prosecution."

Update at 4:44 p.m.: The great Scott Braddock, host of KRLD-AM's Nightly News Roundup, just interviewed Evan Smith about his chat with the DA and the view of the constables' investigation from Austin. Here's the podcast in advance of its broadcast later this evening.
