Back in June, the U.S. Attorney's Office sent word: Jon Leslie Lyons, a 44-year-old who'd been teaching English at Woodrow Wilson High School for three years, had been arrested and charged with keeping child pornography, some involving children under the age of 5, on his home computer and iPhone.

A Dallas Independent School District employee discovered just some of the material on a district-issued computer and notified U.S. Customs and Immigration Enforcement officials -- at which point an investigation ensued. At the time Lyons was already serving a suspension for "making sexually inappropriate comments around students." He would eventually explain his collection thusly: a "morbid fascination with the forbidden."

A fascination that has landed him plenty of possible prison time: The U.S. Attorney's Office just sent word that Lyons pleaded guilty this morning to three counts of receiving child pornography and one count of possessing it. But he'll have to wait till December 22 to find out how much prison time he gets -- somewhere between five and 70 years, on top of which there could be a $1-million fine and up to a lifetime of supervised release.
