Give me Bye over the Cowboys.

Check that. Thanks to last week’s pin-point analysis and this week’s void in the schedule, I’m guaranteed to go two weeks without a loser on Dallas. Haven’t done that since, oh, August.

With the Cowboys resting up for the stretch run, let’s shove our money on the other Cowboys. From Oklahoma State.

My buddy is going to Lubbock this week to see Texas Tech-OSU. (Next year, by the way, this game might be played in the Cotton Bowl.) So he calls his daughter at Tech Thursday afternoon to see if she’s amped for the game.

“Not really,” she said with a sigh. “Nothing can beat last week.”

If the students are emotionally and physically spent, imagine the players.

I love Mike Leach, but I don’t think Tech is mature enough to handle this kind of success. I’m afraid they might have shot their wad on beating No. 1 Texas on the game’s final play.

Not that OSU needs an emotonal edge, much less 3 ½ points. The Cowboys, remember, were throwing into the end zone on the last play of a four-point loss in Austin.

I started with a mythical bankroll of $10,000, courtesy of Bodog sports online gaming. First of all, because their site is easy to navigate. Second, because they’re based in Costa Rica and have had minimal success tracking me down in the past.

I’ll analyze games/wagers of local interest each weekend and make a wager or two every Friday. With any luck, by Christmas it’ll be toys for everyone.

STARTING BANKROLL: $10,000 CURRENT BANKROLL: $2,000 SEASON RECORD: 3-7 LAST WEEK: 1-0 (+ $500) THIS WEEK: Oklahoma State +3 1/2 over Texas Tech for $1,000. -- Richie Whitt
