Last year, Scott and Mariana Griggs bought the land for the West Dallas Country Club, their nickname for
the community garden where Mariana spends most mornings watering and weeding. Scott, a lawyer,
spends his free time advocating for North Oak Cliff development and preservation.

When Andrew Howard, 34, moved from Lakewood to Oak Cliff, he didnt figure he would become a goat herder. Now he cares for two charges, Clyde, pictured, and sister Bonnie.

At the West Dallas Country Club, the Griggses and their biko friends raise bees, watermelon and all manner of organic veggies.

Sideburned Zac Lytle, center, spearheaded the dumpster pool project at the West Dallas Country Club, but couldnt have done it without the help of his fellow bikos.

Pedaling over the Trinity, Jason and Andrea Roberts head for Oak Cliff, where theyve lived for the past 10 years,
and where they have been instrumental in advocating for bike lanes and street fairs.

Zac and Heather Lytle demonstrate what fellow biko Jason Roberts calls slow biking
cruising through the Bishop Arts District, no spandex required.

Oak Cliff restaurateurs Chris and Jessica Jeffershere with their daughter, Alicehave breathed culinary life into the area with Smoke, an upscale barbecue joint, and Bolsa, a locally sourced bistro and market.
