When I think of Latin Holiday music, I, like many boring WASPs the world over, can only muster a list of one: Jose Feliciano's classic "Feliz Navidad."” Granted, it's a good one, but half of it's in English, so it's pretty much a cop-out. Thankfully, DFW International has the holiday cure for those of us with a thirst for cultural knowledge and a little Latin flavor in our holiday eggnog—Navidad Latinoamericana, a night of holiday music from around the Latin world. You'll hear villancicos, aguinaldos and posadas from performers such as Argentina's Trio Folklorico Argentiono, Spain's Coro de la Casa de Espana, Venezuela's Parranda Venezuela, Chile'’s Cantares, Guatemala's Marumba and several performers representing Mexico, including Rocio de Abril Sanchez, Leonel Felipe, Ricardo Paz Mendoza and Mariachi Los Reyes de Dallas (OK, they might be from Dallas). The concert takes place 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Holy Trinity Church, 3811 Oak Lawn Ave. Admission is $5 at the door; children 10 and younger are free. Or, if you want to make a political statement while you enjoy your holiday fare, you can take in a similar lineup next Saturday when Navidad Latinoamericana sets up shop at the Mary Immaculate Catholic Church, 2800 Valwood Parkway in Farmers Branch.
