The Modern’s beautiful building, designed by Tadao Ando, turns 10 this month. They’ve been celebrating inside those glass walls by amassing new acquisitions for the space’s permanent collection, and by offering a series of lectures by some of contemporary art’s biggest brains. In the mix is a stunning neon light sculpture by Dan Flavin, a video and sound installation by favorite Bruce Nauman and most recently, a work by the incredibly wise word and light guru, Jenny Holzer, titled “Kind of Blue.” There are more, like a Robyn O’Neil charcoal and a quasi-abstract painting by Mark Bradford. You can see these newly adopted family members now, during an exhibition appropriately named Tenth Anniversary Acquisitions, on view until August 18, 2013. See the rounding out of this tremendous collection, and feel thankful that we have so much, so close. The Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, 3200 Darnell St., is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sundays, and adult admission is $10. Visit themodern.org.
