Artists are pretty gutsy folk. Basically, they hang out and make a thing, and then when they get done, they call up all their friends and a whole bunch of strangers and say, "Hey, you guys, you should totally come look at this thing that I just made. It is pretty sweet." It's like if you made dinner and went around to everyone in your neighborhood and asked them to smell it. If that appeals to you, go smell the art dinner at Conduit Gallery, which has two new exhibits running through June 12. Billy Hassel's Distances (a collection of oil paintings) and Leticia Gomez's This is Where You Live, This is Where I Live, This is Where We Live (ink drawings) can be seen from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays at Conduit, 1626 C Hi Line Dr. Visit conduitgallery.com.
Tuesdays-Saturdays, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Starts: May 8. Continues through June 12, 2010
