These aren't your mama's arts and crafts! No siree, Bob. These accessories, trinkets and works of art are funky, baby. The Funky Finds Spring Fling will showcase the work of more than 100 indie artisans, most of them local. We're talking rock 'n' roll baby clothes, handbags, screen-printed T's, buttons, nature-inspired artwork and handmade jewelry! You want to bring your pet? Leash 'em up and bring 'em along. In addition to several pet boutiques, a portion of all raffle ticket sales will go to the Humane Society of North Texas. And no worries, since admission to the event is completely free (schwinnng!), purchasing a $1 raffle ticket is totally doable. Care about your ecological footprint? The Funky Finds Spring Fling is a great way to celebrate Earth Day. Many vendors use recycled materials to create their merch, and the first 50 people to purchase raffle tickets will receive a free "go green" swag bag. Find some funkiness from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday at the Will Rodgers Memorial Center, 3409 Burnett-Tandy Drive in Fort Worth. For more information, visit funkyfinds.us or e-mail your questions to [email protected].
Sat., April 25, 10 a.m.-6 p.m., 2009
