If you like your art against the grain, tricked-out and oozing with local tonality, you’ll want to lose yourself in the visual fragments of 13 Spectrums, a new group show taking over the White Space Gallery (2001 N. Lamar St., Suite 500) on Thursday evening. Here you’ll see a pack of work by 13 lone wolves of Dallas’ street, music and outsider art community, including new pieces by Denton-turned-Dallas silk-screener and poster Jedi Nevada Hill; modern skateboard frame furniture by Tom Currie; the often stenciled, sometimes vinyl-cut pop culture conjurings of Nix Johnson, and the colorfully abstract kaleidoscope world of Christian Millet. There’s more, a lot more, and it runs the gamut of styles and methodologies. Basically, you’ll want to check this out by placing your eyeballs on it. The opening runs from 6 p.m. until 9, and it’s free to attend. Visit facebook.com/whitespacedallas/events.
