Chris Tucker has gone from unemployed pothead in Friday to special agent in the Rush Hour movies. That in itself merits a round of applause. Cheers, Tucker, to professional advancement. This Friday, despite the millions in his bank account, Tucker has one thing in mind: making you laugh. What more could you ask for (high-pitched voice), man? It’s a return to stand-up roots for Tucker, who first gained notoriety through those now-famous Def Comedy Jam specials in the ’90s. He was then plucked from the stage and dropped into film, making his biggest mark alongside Jackie Chan. Tucker shows off his over-the-top bits and flashy smile at the Verizon Theatre (1001 Performance Place, Grand Prairie) Friday. The laughs start at 8 p.m. Tickets start at $45.
