When you were a kid, what did you want to be? A house painter.
What's your average day like? My work-at-home life is constantly interrupted by four mouthy Siamese cats and two needy dogs. I mindlessly replace key words in whatever song I'm mindlessly singing with "dog" to keep their little brains occupied. Like "Son of a Preacher Dog", "No Doggie No Cry" or "3-Second Doooog Ruuuuuule."

What's the best gift you ever got? (And it can't be kids or unconditional love.) When I was in college I dated a boy who became paraplegic because of a car wreck -- wait, that's not the gift. ... When I was away for a semester in Rome, he got an old jacket from Salvation Army and sewed vintage rhinestone brooches and pins all over the lapel by hand until it was solid rhinestones. Since he lived out in the Panhandle, those were some seriously amazing vintage pieces. That one really took my breath away, there was so much work and thought put into it.
What's your favorite song of all time? It's a tie between "Mean Eyed Cat" by Johnny Cash and "Don't Make Me Kick Your Ass This Christmas" by the inimitable Mack Stevens. Also, I'm in love with Mack's podcast of goofy old country and rockabilly finds - "In The Groove Show." That boy is mighty entertaining. Lastly, I'm counting the days until the new Cibo Matto album comes out...fingers crossed.
Favorite cuss word? FUCK -- all caps, preferably in cross stitch.
After Dallas, what's the greatest city on the planet? San Francisco
What's the biggest dare you ever completed? I'm usually the one doing the daring.
What's your party trick? Serving strong cocktails in tiny glasses.
Don't you think movies are too long? But if you were forced to pick one, what's the best? Yes. My absolute favorite is Philadelphia Story with Cary Grant as C.K. Dexter-Haven. So many great lines, it never gets old.
Did you ever own Rollerblades? Why? No. I was insane about roller skates as a kid -- I used to skate at LLOVE in middle school. I'm old school like that.
