The Movember Comedy Show this Sunday at Hyena's in Dallas is part of November's mustache-loving fight against cancer. Members of Movember team Dallas Comedy are banding together to grow creepy mustaches and perform some stand up to put money where it's needed -- to fight prostate and testicular cancers and mental health challenges.
Texas comedian Brandon Davidson, who will perform at the show, lost both his grandfather and father-in-law to cancer. Davidson urges fans to come out and help "kick cancer in the balls." "It'll be a great show with incredibly bad mustaches," he says. What more could we ask for?
Comedy Central's Up Next Talent Search Addison winner, Aaron Aryanpur, will also hop on stage this Sunday. "You don't really need a reason to have a kick-ass comedy show or grow obnoxious facial hair," the comedian says. "Fortunately, this just happens to coincide with a worthy cause." Aryanpur is happy that so many people are donating their talents to put on the show. "I don't know anyone who hasn't been affected in some way by cancer. I've lost family and friends; I'm happy to know survivors, too. If growing a silly mustache and putting on a show can help raise a little money and maybe get one more stubborn guy to get himself screened, then our team is happy to play a part."
The price of the show is your choice of donation at the door, and doors open at 7 p.m.
The line-up includes:
Richard Estrada Aaron Aryanpur Seth Cowles Daryl Felsburg Chris Mack Lee Van Coulter Zach Ayers Kerry Smith Brandon Davidson Steve Herdon Usama Siddiquee
So come out this Sunday and rack cancer where it hurts.
