If there's one person a child, hell, anyone, wouldn't want to disappoint it's Mr. Rogers. You wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of what would have to be the most godawful, gut-wrenching, heartbreaking look of disenchantment. An educator, baby-sitter, illusionist and friend on the small screen, Fred Rogers was the best neighbor any of us ever had, and Fort Worth Star-Telegram reporter Tim Madigan provides proof of that in his book I'm Proud of You: My Friendship With Fred Rogers. Madigan offers letters, e-mails and a general account of the friendship he shared with America's beloved cardigan wearer. Madigan signs and discusses his book (and surely how it felt to have the Mr. Rogers tell him he was proud of him) 7 p.m. Friday at Barnes & Noble, 3909 S. Cooper St. in Arlington. Call 817-557-1171.
