In fact, the debatable “twist” of Henry James’ The Turn of the Screw (1897) has ignited more than a few literary cage matches, Ph.D. turf wars and pretentious bar fights. But, after you’ve melted your brain drudging through James’ dense Victorian prose, see the yarn of creepy tykes and their (nutbag?) nanny come to life during Kitchen Dog Theater’s rendition of the Jeffry Hatcher stage adaptation, running March 30 through April 28 at 3120 McKinney Ave. Do spirits dwell at the dank English mansion? Has the governess simply chugged a few spirits? James ain’t saying, so the answers are up to you. Just take the interpretive fisticuffs outside. Tickets start at $20.
