OK, so New Jersey gets a bad rap, and has for awhile now. It's only gotten worse since the Jersey Shore kids have taken over America with their GTL (gym, tan, laundry) routine and fist-pumping dance moves. Also, watching Jersey Shore is bad for your eyes. Staring at the guidos' orange glow is like staring directly into the sun. Maybe that's why they always wear sunglasses. Smart move. Let's look on the bright side of things, though--New Jersey also produces other folks besides spiky-haired guidos and bump-it guidettes. How about a half-Jewish, half-Mormon stand-up comedian who has her own late-night talk show, for instance? Yes, we're talking about the vodka-drinking, foul-mouthed, tell-it-how-it-is Chelsea Handler. You might know her from Chelsea Lately, but this funny lady has been around the comedy circuit for years. She was once one of the main stars on Girls Behaving Badly, acted as a correspondent for The Tonight Show, and has successfully written three books. Chelsea is on the road again promoting her third book, Chelsea Chelsea Bang Bang, and will stop by Grand Prairie this Saturday at the Nokia Theatre, 1001 Performance Place, to tell some jokes and entertain the Dallasites. Tickets are $45.50 to $69.50. Visit ticketmaster.com.
