Painter Deya Harris can't seem to decide what to specialize in, which makes her work all the more interesting. One painting might be a surreal spacescape on canvas, followed by a portrait painted on a smooth rock, followed by abstract swirls painted on a cross. Influenced by Diego Rivera, Pablo Picasso and Vincent Van Gogh, the Nicaraguan-born artist's work "is an expression of the mind and also communicates to the world in different ways." It will be on display 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and during all music and theater performances through June 29 at the Granville Arts Center, 300 N. Fifth St. in Garland.
